Education in Sustainability

bee.png

As providers of the Main Stage at the Green Gathering— an event running since 1980 and voted the only UK event to have won the “International Greener Festival award” — we have built strong connections with a diverse network of educators and demonstrators specializing in environmental skills and sciences. One of our team members was among the original founders of the Green Gathering, reinforcing our long-standing commitment to sustainability.

Our expertise covers a wide range of topics, from renewable energy and energy-efficient operations to hands-on DIY projects such as building a bicycle generator or wind turbine using recycled materials. We also engage in permaculture gardening, sustainable horticulture, and other eco-friendly practices.

We are happy to connect individuals and organisations with experts who can provide lectures, live demonstrations, and workshops on these topics.

Beyond sustainability, we have a strong tradition of supporting community music and educational groups, including ukulele workshops, choir sessions, and interactive music-making. Communal music is widely recognized for its positive impact on social well-being and is particularly beneficial for special needs and educational programs.

Education is at the heart of our work, as demonstrated by the public’s keen interest in our solar power system. Visitors are often amazed at the amount of high-quality sound and lighting powered by our compact solar station, and we are always happy to offer insights into how it all works.

To further develop this educational aspect, we are introducing display boards featuring informative text and photographs to enhance public engagement and understanding.
